15 Jan How to Package Your Passion in the Workplace
Shine Bright Like a Diamond.
Your passion is much more than a side hustle, it is the driving force that will enable you to walk in your God-given purpose. Contrary to many beliefs, you do not have to quit your job to package your passion. Your passion can meet needs wherever you are, even in your workplace or business.
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16. I love this scripture mainly because it does not specify where you can shine, it just advises you to let your light shine. Many of us restrict ourselves to where we can shine, this could be due to our own assumptions or the unspoken rule that hangs in the atmosphere around us. You have to decide within yourself that you will go outside the box and create the pathway to express your passion. Nothing beats doing what you love. How blissful will life be if you are able to combine both your profession, mission and passion in the same place?
Here is an example of someone who stepped out of the box.
Client A went through a period of bereavement with the determination to ensure she used her bereavement experience for good. We went through the Package My Passion Academy K.I.T.E.S model to discover her genius zone and key strengths. We discovered that she has a strong spirit of compassion and an exceptional way to comfort people going through bereavement.
The first step was to test the waters so we packaged her passion to volunteer in her workplace and support those who were going through similar situation. Her ‘good works’ became noticeable and she was offered support to turn it into more.
Now she is on her way to complete her counselling course to become a bereavement expert and support organisations with her new found drive and passion. I can’t wait to see the rest of her plan unfold (shared with permission).
Forge Your Own Path.
That ‘thing that is casual to you is someone else’s salvation. Do not think for one minute that what you have is insignificant. Every experience and everything you know can make a difference in someone’s life.
To package your passion in the workplace you must be willing to step out of your comfort zone and right into your stretch zone. Your idea may be popular (or not), just remember that it is driven by purpose first before passion. Your passion could be an extension of your regular role and allow you to actually do something you enjoy. However it comes to you, look at the bigger picture and the lives it could transform.
Let your passion be PURPOSE-DRIVEN then PROFIT will follow.
